Paul Fain

Paul Fain is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in higher education and workforce reporting. Currently serving as a journalist at Work Shift since March 2021, Fain authors The Job, a weekly newsletter on the intersection of education and the American workforce, and co-founded Work Shift, a digital platform focused on the effectiveness of education and training in meeting societal needs. Prior to this role, Fain worked at Inside Higher Ed from September 2011 to January 2021 as both News Editor and Senior Reporter. Fain's career also includes significant positions at Widmeyer Communications, The Chronicle of Higher Education, C-VILLE Weekly, and the Union of Concerned Scientists. Fain earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Delaware in 1996.
