J.w. Starr

J.W. "Mike" Starr has extensive experience in accounting and regulatory roles, notably serving as Vice President of Governmental and Regulatory at Workiva since 2012, where involvement in digital reporting solutions has supported Fortune 500 clients. Previous positions include Deputy Chief Accountant at the US Securities and Exchange Commission and various leadership roles at Grant Thornton International Ltd., culminating in Chief Operating Officer, where Mike managed strategy, finance, and public policy. Additionally, Mike has contributed as a Board Member for organizations such as Data Foundation and Data Coalition, and played a key role in XBRL US, Inc. as Chair of the XBRL Data Quality Committee. Mike holds a B.S. in Accountancy from Oklahoma State University.
