Denise Fleming

Denise Fleming has a diverse range of work experience in government affairs and legislative roles. Denise is currently working as the Senior Director of Government Affairs at WorkMoney since 2022. Previously, they served as the Legislative Director for Congresswoman Cindy Axne (IA-03) at the U.S. House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, Denise worked as a Professional Staff Member for the Committee on Rules and Administration in the United States Senate from 2017 to 2019, where they were responsible for various policy areas related to election cybersecurity protections, campaign finance, and voting rights. Denise also served as a Senior Legislative Assistant to Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05) in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2017 to 2017, where they advised him on issues related to national defense, homeland security, and transportation. Additionally, Denise has experience working at the Department of Defense Education Activity as a Legislation and Congressional Management Specialist from 2017 to 2017, and at the Office of Congressman J. Brad Ashford (NE-02) as a Legislative Assistant from 2012 to 2016. Denise has also worked as a Field Staff member for Tim Walz for U.S. Congress and interned for Congressman Tim Walz (MN-01) in 2012 and 2011 respectively. Denise's work experience has equipped their with a strong understanding of government processes and policy development.

Denise Fleming holds a Master's degree in Military Operational Art and Science/Studies, which they obtained from the USAF Air Command and Staff College between the years 2018 and 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire from 2007 to 2011.
