Melanie Johnson began their career in 2012 as a Software Engineer at KEYW Corporation, where they developed a commercial network security project on an Agile team and completed several systems programming projects for Internal Research and Development. In 2014, they joined Laserfiche as a Senior Software Engineer, where they wrote server-side code for web products in the Laserfiche suite and ensured that all components were performant, secure, and scalable. In 2018, they took on the role of Lead Vocalist for the band Second Shooter, performing screaming, growling, and singing. Finally, in 2022, they joined WorkRamp as a Senior Software Engineer.

Melanie Johnson attended Brown University from 2009 to 2014.
