Derek Doherty

Derek Doherty is an experienced professional in education and development, holding a Bachelor's Degree and a Higher Diploma from the National University of Ireland, Galway, as well as a Master's degree from The University of British Columbia. Beginning a career as an Elementary School Teacher at Dublin Elementary Schools in 1997 and later at London Elementary Schools in 2001, Derek transitioned to roles with increasing responsibility in the education sector, including Instructor and Course Developer at the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) from 2011 to 2018, and Education Development Manager at ICCRC from 2018 to 2021. Derek also served as an Immigration Officer with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada from 2004 to 2010 and spent time as an English Language Teacher at Wall Street English China from 2002 to 2003. Since November 2023, Derek has been contributing as a Learning & Performance Development Specialist and Instructional Project Lead at WorkSafeBC.
