Abeer Jazza considers her childhood home in Iraq a considerable influence in her architectural career. From the presence of familiar date palms in the central courtyard to a notable lack of skyscrapers , her concept of home is deeply rooted in the lives built therein. Now, Abeer prefers to focus on the elements that give a place a unique character when designing. Since earning her Bachelor of Architecture from Thomas Jefferson University, she has worked on a range of typologies, from commercial and retail to residential developments and residences. Previously at KPF, Abeer coordinated construction efforts to elevate a massive NYCHA housing complex located in a floodplain. At Workshop/APD, her focus lies primarily on single-family residences, where she can apply her passion for people, place, and purpose to one-of-a-kind homes.
