Robert Weston has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Robert started their career as a Logistics Officer and Retail Salesperson at David Jones, where they worked from 1999 to 2007. Robert then transitioned to the field of neuroscience and worked as a Research Officer at the Florey Neuroscience Institutes from 2007 to 2008. Following this, they became a Research Officer at the O'Brien Institute of Microsurgery from 2009 to 2010, conducting research in tissue engineering and vascular biology.
In 2008, Robert joined World Youth International as an Overseas Action Program Leader and Ambassador, where they volunteered overseas in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Nepal, Cambodia, India, and Peru. Robert remained in this position until 2011.
In 2012, Robert moved into the finance industry and joined Colonial First State as an Investment Product Analyst and later as a Product Compliance & Governance Officer. Robert'sresponsibilities included implementing procedures to support the company's investment governance framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Robert worked at Colonial First State until 2016.
From 2015 to 2016, Robert worked at Charity Adventure TV as a Team Member for World Youth International, where they contributed to the production of adventure documentaries that raised over $2 million for charity.
Most recently, Robert served as a Program Lead at Remote Year from 2016 to 2018. In this role, they managed a community of digital nomads, organizing their year-long journey across 12 cities worldwide, fostering personal and professional connections.
Robert is currently the General Manager at Worksmith, a position they have held since 2018.
Robert Weston completed their Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Monash University from 1998 to 2001, with majors in Physiology and Pharmacology, achieving First Class Honours in Pharmacology. From 2002 to 2006, they pursued their PhD in Behavioural Neuropharmacology at the same institution. Later, from 2012 to 2014, Robert earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Organizational Leadership from Melbourne Business School.
