Erika Westphal

Erika Westphal is a Director of People and Operations at WorkSpan. Erika has extensive experience in operations management, HR, and administration.

Erika started their career as an executive assistant and office manager at Cognizant in 1998. In this role, they were responsible for managing all aspects of the office, from calendaring and scheduling to equipment procurement and accounts payable/receivable. Erika quickly proved herself to be an invaluable asset to the company, and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2007.

In their new role, Erika was responsible for designing and implementing office policies, establishing standard procedures, managing payroll, and recruiting and training new employees. Erika also oversaw all aspects of office administration, including record retention, travel arrangements, and event planning. Erika was instrumental in helping the company run smoothly and efficiently.

In 2013, Erika left Cognizant to join Smule, Inc., where they took on the role of Happiness Director. In this position, they were responsible for creating and maintaining a positive culture within the company. Erika achieved this by promoting pro-activity, confidence, organization, and empathy among employees. Erika was successful in making Smule a happy and thriving workplace.

In 2018, Erika left Smule to join WorkSpan as Director of People and Operations. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources and operations. Erika is committed to helping WorkSpan run smoothly and efficiently, and to creating a positive and productive work environment.

Erika Westphal has a degree in HR Management from Cornell University and is also a certified notary public through the National Notary Association.

Erika Westphal reports to Mayank Bawa, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder. Some direct reports include Mona J - Senior People Operation Manager, Parameshwari Joy - Human Resources Generalist, and Ida Sisic - Global Recruiter & Coordinator (Remote). They work with Arun Ramachandran - VP, Product Management and Design, Kostub Deshmukh - VP, Engineering, and Justin Silvia - Chief Customer Officer.
