Lei Xu has always been interested in technology and its potential to change the world. This led their to pursue a career in software engineering. Lei started their career at Google, where they built front-end features on a web-based data reporting and visualization platform. After a few years at Google, they decided to switch gears and join the startup world.

In 2015, Lei Xu co-founded Emote, an early stage EdTech startup that helps schools to be more caring, connected, and collaborative. The company was funded by Y Combinator and participated in 4.0 Schools' Launch program. Lei Xu served as the Chief Technology Officer at Emote. In this role, they were responsible for the technical development of the product and the Emote platform.

After two years at Emote, Lei Xu decided to move on to their next adventure. Lei joined Workstream as the Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer. In this role, they are responsible for leading the product vision and strategy for Workstream.

Lei Xu is an industrial engineer and economist who attended the University of California, Berkeley. Lei has a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University.

Their manager is Desmond Lim, CEO. Andrew Garcia - Head of Product, Tim Rechin - Head of Product Design report to Lei Xu. They work with Matthew Rotella - Head of Corporate Development, Tommy Bettles - Head Of Finance, and Scott Kendall - Head of Sales Development.
