John Comings

John Comings is a Senior Technical Consultant at World Education and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. They are the Lead Early Grade Reading Senior Consultant for All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development, focusing on technology-supported innovations in early grade reading for low-resource environments. From April 2012 to October 2013, John served as an education policy advisor in the Obama Administration, concentrating on USAID’s early-grade reading initiative. With extensive experience in international education, including roles at the Education Development Center and the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy at Harvard University, John has worked on projects across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. They earned their Doctor of Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
