Senior Food Safety Advisor

Robert Baker currently serves as a Senior Food Safety Advisor at the World Food Programme, a position held since January 2022. Prior to this, Robert held various leadership roles at Mars Incorporated, including Corporate Food Safety Science and Capability Director and Global Food Safety Center Director. In these capacities, Robert provided strategic guidance on food safety initiatives and led the development of the Mars Global Food Safety Center. Earlier experience at Mars also included roles as Global Head of Food Safety and Asia Regional Quality and Food Safety Manager. Robert began the professional career as a Microbiology Technician at Hoechst Roussel Pharmaceuticals. Robert holds a Master of Science degree in Food Science from Rutgers University.
