Rushini Perera currently serves as the Head of Climate Change and Resilience at the World Food Programme, a position held since November 2020, with responsibilities including strategic direction, technical guidance, and budget management for the Resilient Food Systems Unit in Sri Lanka. Previously, Rushini held roles such as Programme Policy Officer for Climate Change Adaptation at the World Food Programme and Project Specialist for Climate Change Adaptation at UNDP. With experience in various capacities within Save the Children, including Livelihoods and Humanitarian Advisor, and Project Coordinator at the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement, Rushini has demonstrated leadership and expertise in climate adaptation and resilience. Educational qualifications comprise an MSc in Development, Administration and Planning from UCL and a BA (Hons) in International Development Studies from York University.
