Daniel Burkhoff has a diverse work experience in the medical and research field. Daniel has held various roles in different companies and institutions. Daniel started their career as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in 1992 and held that role until 2003. In 2003, they became the Medical Director at Impulse Dynamics, where they worked until 2014. During their time at Impulse Dynamics, they also served as a Medical Director at CircuLite, Inc. from 2009 to 2013 and at Cheetah Medical Inc. from 2006 to 2012. In 2004, they worked as a Medical Director at Skirball Center for Cardiovascular Research / Cardiovascular Foundation. In 2005, they became an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University. In 2012, they founded PVLoops and has been working there since. Daniel'smost recent role is as the VP Medical Science at HeartWare Inc., where they have been since 2014.
Daniel Burkhoff pursued their education in a dedicated effort to excel in the field of medicine and biomedical engineering. Daniel began their educational journey at Cornell University in 1976, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Applied and Engineering Physics in 1979. Daniel then continued their academic pursuits at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1979 to 1987, undertaking a dual degree program simultaneously. During this period, they successfully obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, further expanding their expertise and knowledge in the medical and engineering fields.
