Xin Chen

Xin (Cindy) Chen has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. Xin (Cindy) started their career as a Technical Support Intern at GE Transportation in 2008 and then returned to the same company for another internship in 2011.

In 2011, they also started working as a Data Analyst (Research Assistant) at North Carolina State University, where they remained until 2014. Xin (Cindy) then became a Teaching Assistant at the university from 2012 to 2015.

In 2016, Xin joined Duke University as a Data Scientist, focusing on Machine Learning techniques. Their role involved data analysis, model optimization using Python and AWS, and building a model using variational inference. Xin (Cindy) worked in Pearson Lab, Duke Institute of Brain Sciences, until 2017.

After leaving Duke, Xin joined Citadel in 2017 as a Data Engineer. Xin (Cindy) was promoted to Senior Data Engineer in 2019 and remained in that role until 2023.

Currently, Xin is working at WorldQuant as a Lead Engineer, starting in July 2023.

Prior to that, Xin Chen pursued a PHD Candidate degree in Computer Engineering with a concentration in Mobility Network and Social Network from North Carolina State University. This degree spanned from 2011 to 2014.

Before their studies in the United States, Xin Chen completed their Master's degree in Wireless Communication and Engineering with a specialization in High-speed Railway Communication Systems from Beijing Jiaotong University. Xin (Cindy) attended this university from 2008 to 2011.

In addition to their academic achievements, Xin Chen obtained a SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 certification from SAS in August 2016.
