Yash Sharma

Yash Sharma, PhD, has extensive work experience in various research and engineering roles. Yash is currently a Vice President Research at WorldQuant, where they have been since 2023. Prior to this, they held positions as a Senior Quantitative Researcher and a Quantitative Researcher at WorldQuant starting in 2020 and 2019 respectively. Before their time at WorldQuant, Yash worked as a Senior Lead Engineer at Samsung Research Institute from 2018 to 2019. Yash also served as a Marie-Sklodowska Curie Fellow at the Technical University of Munich from 2014 to 2018 and as a Visiting Researcher at Tohoku University in 2017. Yash's early career included roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia from 2012 to 2014, as well as an Intern at GE Global Research in 2012. Yash started their professional journey as a Student-B.E.(Hons.)Mechanical at Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani from 2008 to 2012. Yash's academic experience also includes positions as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia in 2011 and as a Summer Intern at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research in 2010.

Yash Sharma, PhD, has an extensive educational background in the fields of Physics and Mechanical Engineering. Yash obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics from the Technical University of Munich between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering at The University of British Columbia from 2012 to 2014. Yash's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, which they earned from 2008 to 2012.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Yash has also pursued further certifications.
