Leyla Aşurova

Leyla Akh is currently a PhD student at the University of Colorado Boulder, with a strong background in bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Prior to this role, Leyla accumulated significant experience at Los Alamos National Laboratory from December 2014 to August 2022, serving as a Post Masters and Student Researcher primarily on the ATHENA Project, where Leyla focused on building and culturing tissues in organs-on-chips and working under BSL-2 conditions. Leyla also gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center from August 2019 to June 2020. Leyla holds a Master of Engineering degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering, complemented by a minor in Technical and Professional Writing, all from the University of New Mexico.
