Alex Tam

Alex Tam has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and machine learning. Alex is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at WorthPoint, where they are responsible for developing data pipelines and deploying machine learning models to identify the value of antiques and collectibles. Prior to this, Alex worked as a Research Scientist at Georgia Tech Research Institute, where they supported projects involving machine learning for sensor processing, analyst automation, and damage estimation. Alex also enhanced the machine learning infrastructure by improving algorithms and analyzing results. Before that, they worked as a Contractor at TEKsystems and as a Business Services Analyst at The Home Depot. Alex has also held positions as an Instructor Associate at General Assembly and as a Software Engineer at McKesson, where they developed web applications and utilized third-party libraries and tools. Alex gained experience as a Software Development Intern at RelayHealth, where they debugged and refactored applications. Alex started their career as a Software Engineering Co-Op at Auburn University.

Alex Tam began their education in 2009 at Auburn University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering. Alex successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2013. In 2016, Alex attended General Assembly for a short period to enhance their skills in Data Science. Currently, Alex is enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they are expected to graduate in 2023 with a Master's degree in Computer Science. Their field of study in both their undergraduate and graduate programs is focused on Software Engineering.
