Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence has extensive work experience in the technology and web hosting industry. Matthew began their career in 2009 as the Director of Web Design at Orangecast. In 2011, they co-founded Synthesis Managed WordPress Hosting, which later became a part of Copyblogger Media. At Synthesis, Matthew served as the Director of Operations for over a year.

In 2013, Matthew joined Copyblogger Media directly, where they held various roles of increasing responsibility. Matthew started as a Technical Support Manager and quickly moved up to become the Operations Manager for the Synthesis Managed Hosting product. Matthew then became the Director of Hosting Operations, overseeing the company's hosted products and managing a skilled international DevOps team.

In 2015, Matthew was promoted to Vice President of Hosting Operations, where they led the revitalization project of StudioPress Themes & Plugins and successfully split the DevOps teams to service two separate platforms. Matthew later became the Vice President of Application Development, leading a team of developers and DevOps engineers to design and launch StudioPress Sites.

Matthew's most recent role was at WP Engine, where they joined in 2018 as a Senior Manager Engineering and gradually progressed to become the Director of Software Engineering. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Software Engineering.

Throughout their career, Matthew has demonstrated strong leadership and technical skills, successfully managing teams, overseeing operations, and launching products.

Matthew Lawrence has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Dallas, which they obtained in 2008. In 2013, they also received a UNIX Admin Certificate from Dallas College.
