Principal Solutions Engineer & EMEA Team Lead at WP Engine

Paul Liddington has a diverse work experience in the field of web development and solutions engineering. Paul is currently working at WP Engine as a Senior Solutions Engineer & EMEA Team Lead. In this role, they provide technical pre-sales consulting advice to customers, including both traditional WordPress platforms and Headless solutions. Paul also consults on solutions provided by cloud computing providers such as GCP and AWS. Before joining WP Engine, Paul worked at Cite, where they held multiple roles and demonstrated strong leadership skills. As the Technical Director, they established core agency offerings and led web application projects. As the Technical Manager, they led the internal development team and implemented in-house development standards. Prior to that, Paul worked at The Activ Group as a Project Development Manager and Web Developer, where they built and led a development team, developed product offerings, and created foundations for the in-house development team. At the start of their career, Paul worked at Cite as a Web Developer and progressed into a senior role, where they mentored junior team members and maintained the in-house CMS. Overall, Paul has a strong background in web development, technical leadership, and providing solutions to customers.

Paul Liddington earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Multimedia Computing from De Montfort University between 2000 and 2004. Prior to that, they completed an Advanced GNVQ Computing program at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College from 1998 to 1999. In 1996 to 1997, Paul obtained eight GCSEs from John Cleveland College. Paul has also obtained various certifications, including "Becoming an Effective Manager" from Abilitie, "Headless WordPress Platform Specialist" from WP Engine, "Full Stack Observability" from New Relic, Inc., "Sandler Sales Methodology Training" from WP Engine, "Radical Candor Training" from WP Engine, "Technical Sales: The Role of the Sales Engineer" from LinkedIn, and "Level 5 – Leadership and Management" from ILM.
