James Farmer has a strong background in education and technology. James has held various leadership roles throughout their career. In 2000, James worked as the Computer Assisted Language Learning Coordinator at La Trobe University International, where they were responsible for designing and developing online teaching and learning materials. From 2002 to 2003, they served as the Flexible Learning Coordinator at RMIT University, managing the design and development of online courses. At Deakin University, where James worked from 2003 to 2006, they were a Lecturer in Education Design, conducting research and development in the use of emerging technologies in online teaching and learning. James also provided training and consultation to academics in implementing social technologies into their courses. In 2006, James served as the Online Community Editor at The Age, where they managed the development of blogs and online communities. Since 2007, James has held various executive positions at WPMU DEV, Incsub, and Edublogs, including CEO and Chief Executive Officer.
James Farmer completed their education at the University of Hull. In 1994, they enrolled in the university and pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in English Language & Literature. James successfully completed this program in 1997. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained a CELTA certification from the University of Hull in English Language.
