Mark Povey serves as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at WPP, having joined the company in July 2012. Prior to these roles, Mark held the titles of Deputy General Counsel and Legal Adviser at WPP from 2002 to 2012. Mark's legal career began at Edge & Ellison, where a partnership in the Corporate Department focused on mergers and acquisitions lasted from 1989 to 2000. Following a merger with Hammonds, Mark became a Partner in the Corporate Department of the newly formed entity, now known as Squire Patton Boggs, from 2000 to 2002. Mark holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Liverpool and completed studies at The College of Law in Chester.
