Susmita Gupta

Susmita Gupta is an experienced professional in the fields of cyber risk, compliance, and technology risk management. Currently serving as the Director of Cyber Risk & Compliance and Head of Operations Assurance at WPP since February 2022, Susmita previously held the position of Technology Risk and Compliance Manager at Tesco from June 2015 to February 2022, where responsibilities included leading a global program to enhance security controls across technology. Prior experience includes serving as Compliance Manager at Ardenta, a Claranet Group Company, from July 2014 to June 2015, where Susmita built the Information Security Management System and led the organization through ISO 27001 accreditation. Additionally, Susmita worked as an IT Risk Consultant at UBS, performing technology risk assessments to mitigate data security risks. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physical Sciences from Ravenshaw University, with postdoctoral research conducted at the University of Zurich.
