Kelsey Scheckel, PhD has diverse work experience in the field of biology and research. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at the University of California, Berkeley, where they served as a Doctoral Researcher, Instructor, Berkeley Connect Graduate Fellow, and Coordinator of Logistics & Field Entomology for the Hopland Research & Extension Center BioBlitz. In these roles, they conducted research on invasive ant biology and ecology, mentored undergraduate students, provided academic advising, and organized biodiversity assessment events. In 2017, they also worked as a Bridges to Baccalaureate Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH): Intramural Research Program (IRP), where they mentored a community college student in collegiate research. Currently, they are working at WRA, Inc. as a Biologist and Compliance Specialist.

Starting in 2009, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder, concluding their studies in 2013. Following this, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at the University of California, Berkeley from 2014 to 2021.
