Mike Friedrich is an accomplished news director and media professional with extensive experience in journalism and media production. Currently serving as News Director at WRAL since May 2024 and as Owner/Founder of Friedrich Media L.L.C. since June 2018, Mike has provided expertise to a diverse range of clients, including NBC News and Cox Media Group. Prior to these roles, Mike held significant positions such as News Director at KUTV 2News and KMYU, where management of a 100-person news department was a key responsibility, and Assistant News Director at KPRC, overseeing major events and crisis management. Additional experience includes leadership roles at WJLA-TV and WJZ-TV, along with foundational work as a reporter and videojournalist. Mike holds a BA in Communications from PennWest Edinboro.
