Dan is currently serving as a Principal at Wrays | Intellectual Property, where they have also held positions as a Patent and Trade Marks Attorney, Senior Associate, and Associate. Additionally, they have worked as an Author at LexisNexis and served as an Industry Advisory Board Member at the Centre for Personalised Therapeutics Technologies. In their earlier career, Dan worked at IP Australia, holding positions such as Hearing Officer, Director, Assistant Hearing Officer, Assistant Director/Senior Examiner of Patents, Senior Patent Analyst, and Examiner of Patents. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Novartis and as a Lecturer and Tutor at ANU college/ANU. Dan also worked as an Undergraduate Chemistry Tutor and Laboratory Demonstrator at UNSW Canberra at ADFA.
Dan Beck completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Chemistry from RMIT University between 1998 and 2000. Dan then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from The Australian National University, completing it from 2001 to 2005. Later, from 2007 to 2009, they earned a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Technology Sydney.
