Tom Bond

Principal Consultant – Water Treatment

Tom Bond is currently a Principal Consultant in Water Treatment at the Water Research Centre, where they work on projects throughout the municipal and industrial water cycle to address challenges like climate change and water scarcity. Previously, Tom served as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Sustainability, Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Surrey from 2017 to 2024, focusing on hazardous pollutants and their impacts on water systems. Tom's academic background includes a PhD in Water Engineering and an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Bristol, complemented by various research roles in institutions like Imperial College London and the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Tom is also a Chartered Civil Engineer with interests in microplastics, disinfection byproducts, and micropollutants such as PFAS.
