Diego Carrillo

Principal Landscape Architect

Diego Carrillo is a highly qualified professional in the fields of landscape architecture and agronomy, with extensive experience spanning agricultural inspection, plant science, and landscape design. Diego served as an Agricultural Inspector at ISCAMEN, where inspections focused on pest control in fruit exports, and later worked as a Plant Scientist at Syngenta, ensuring genetic purity in hybrid seeds. Diego contributed to the INTA's Phytopharmacy Studies Centre by researching phytomedicines for olive trees and grapevines. With a background in managing crops and dairy production as a volunteer at Old Plaw Hatch Farm and holding significant roles in landscape architecture—including Senior Landscape Designer at Trees for Cities and current position as Principal Landscape Architect at WSP—Diego has demonstrated leadership in sustainable landscape projects across the UK. Diego holds a MA in Landscape Architecture and a Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design, both with Distinction, as well as a First-class honours degree in Agronomy.
