Grant Byars

Grant Byars is a strategic spatial planner with over 20 years of experience in urban planning and design. They held roles as a Senior Planner at Halcrow, where they developed land use plans for major regeneration projects in Kuwait and Scotland, and served as an Associate at BDP, leading urban planning initiatives in Saudi Arabia. Grant also worked at CH2M on the Education City Master Plan and contributed as a senior urban planner for the FIFA World Cup 2022 project in Qatar. Currently, they are a Technical Director at WSP, where they continue to influence urban strategies across the UAE, Oman, and KSA. Grant earned a BSc(Hons) in Town and Regional Planning from The University of Dundee.
