Kate's academic experience includes serving as an adjunct research associate at Victoria University of Wellington and a research scientist at Geological and Nuclear Sciences Ltd., with a focus on Antarctic climate reconstruction. Kate holds a PhD in Snow Science/Glaciology from the University of Calgary, complemented by qualifications in science communication and physical geography from the University of Otago and the University of Canterbury.
