Michael D. Smith

Dr. Michael D. Smith is a Senior Vice President and National Practice Leader for Environmental Process and Policy at WSP, where they continue to influence the field as a strategist and thought leader. With extensive experience in various leadership roles, they previously served as a Principal at Enercon Services, Inc. and held senior positions at Ecology and Environment, Inc. and AECOM. Dr. Smith has also contributed to academia as a faculty member at Utah State University and UC Davis Extension, sharing expertise in environmental policy and sustainability. Their commitment to the field is further exemplified through service on multiple boards, including the California Association of Environmental Professionals.
