Samir Bougacha

Samir Bougacha, PhD, PE, is the Vice President and Structures TEC Lead at WSP, a role they have held since 2025. With extensive experience in structural engineering, Samir began their career as an Engineer at L.A. Fuess Partners from 1993 to 1997 and later served as an Associate at Thornton Tomasetti from 1997 to 2006. They held principal and senior supervising roles at The Structural Alliance, Inc. and Parsons Brinckerhoff, respectively, before becoming Structural Technical Manager at Michael Baker International from 2023 to 2025. In addition to their professional career, Samir is an Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University, teaching Advanced Steel Design since 2010. Samir earned a BS in Civil Engineering, an MS, and a PhD in Structural Engineering from Michigan State University and The University of Texas at Austin.
