Stephen Cain

Stephen Cain is an experienced planning consultant and technical director with a career spanning over three decades in transportation and infrastructure planning. Currently serving as a Technical Director and Associate Director at WSP in the UK since July 2017, Stephen is actively involved in coordinating Sustainability and Environmental Studies for the East West Rail project on behalf of Network Rail. Prior to this, Stephen held the position of Principal Planning Consultant at Parsons Brinckerhoff, contributing to significant planning initiatives. From March 2012 to August 2013, Stephen worked as Development and Planning Manager at Veolia Environmental Services UK, overseeing various planning tasks including site appraisals and stakeholder management. Earlier career experience includes significant roles at Manchester Airport from 1988 to September 2011, where Stephen managed planning submissions and facilitated major infrastructure developments, such as a second runway and terminal expansions. Stephen holds a B.Sc. degree in Transport Management and Planning from Loughborough University, completed in 1987.
