Prashant Kumar Patel

Prashant Kumar Patel has a diverse and extensive work experience. Prashant Kumar started their career as a Product Expert at Future Shop in 2006 and later founded and served as the Executive Director of Thistletown Institute of Mathematics & Sciences in 2009. In 2010, they held the role of Vice President of Finance at the Mathematics Society at the University of Waterloo.

Prashant joined the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA) in 2011, where they served as the Vice President of Operations & Finance and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, they managed a consolidated annual operating budget of $20M+ and was responsible for the profitability and growth of 8 business units generating over $7M in sales. Prashant also oversaw the hiring, training, and retention of employees.

In 2013, Prashant worked as a Sales Consultant and later as a Senior Sales Consultant at The Brick. Prashant Kumar joined Breakaway Tours in 2007, initially as a Regional Sales Representative and later as a Destination Staff Accountant.

In 2014, Prashant became the Director of Commercial Operations at the Federation of Students at the University of Waterloo, where they managed 7 commercial business units. Prashant Kumar also briefly served as the Interim Special Events Coordinator, organizing diverse programs and events.

Prashant's entrepreneurial spirit led him to found PUFFERWARE in 2018, where they served as the Founder and Operating Officer. Prashant Kumar also became the Vice President of Business Development at Chef on Call, providing business advisory and overseeing financial strategy and practice.

Additionally, Prashant demonstrated their skills as an All Star Host at Turo, achieving a top rating as an early adopter of carshare in Canada.

Throughout their career, Prashant has shown leadership and expertise in operations, finance, business development, and event management. Prashant Kumar has also implemented technological advancements and strategies to enhance decision making and efficiency within organizations.

From 2004 to 2008, Prashant attended Thistletown Collegiate Institute, where they pursued a Regular/General High School/Secondary Diploma Program.

Following that, they enrolled at the University of Waterloo from 2008 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) degree in the field of Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Prashant acquired certifications related to the LS Retail - POS and business management software solutions. In February 2020, they obtained the CF 300 LS Central for Retail certification, and in March 2020, they obtained the CF 400 LS Central for Restaurants certification.
