Gearoid Murphy

Gearoid Murphy has diverse work experience in various companies. Gearoid started their career as a Software Engineer at Havok in 2009 and worked there until 2010. Gearoid then joined HP as a Software Engineer, where they worked on protocol analysis and design until 2013. From 2013 to 2018, Gearoid worked at Google as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, responsible for the Ads Serving stack. In 2018, they joined X, the moonshot factory, initially as a Machine Learning Perception Engineer, and later transitioned to the role of Staff ML Engineer. Currently, Gearoid holds the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer at X.

Gearoid Murphy received their first degree in Computer Systems from the University of Limerick, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Later, they pursued a higher level of education and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genetic Algorithms at the same institution from 2004 to 2008.
