Alan McDonnell

Alan McDonnell is an accomplished networking professional with extensive experience in managerial and engineering roles. Currently serving as the Director of Networking at Company X since July 2023, Alan previously held significant positions at Twitter from June 2020 to March 2024, including Director and Infrastructure Lead, overseeing teams focused on Network Engineering, Front End development, Traffic, Observability, and Service Coordination. Prior to Twitter, Alan spent nearly nine years at Amazon, progressing from Network Engineer to Senior Manager, Network Engineering Lead. Alan's career began at eircom as a Network Engineer and included a brief tenure as IT Support Team Lead at Accenture, along with work as a Network Operations Centre Engineer at Servecentric. Alan holds a BA (mod) in Information & Communications Technology from Trinity College Dublin, earned between 1999 and 2003.
