David Mitlyng

David Mitlyng has over 25 years of experience in the space industry. David began their career in 1994 as a Vehicle Engineer at Hughes Space and Communications. In 1999, they joined Space Systems/Loral as a Design Engineer. In 2000, they moved to Orbital Sciences Corporation, now Orbital ATK!, as a Systems Engineer and Director of Business Development. In 2013, they went to SSL (Space Systems Loral) as Vice President of Business Development and Director of Marketing and Sales. In 2015, they became Employee Number One at BridgeSat, Inc., a startup offering commercial space-based optical communications systems. In this role, they were responsible for Business Development, Strategy, and Product Management. David led the company through a Series A funding round in early 2017. In 2018, they became Chief Operations Officer at SpeQtral. In 2021, they joined TFWireless Inc (NASA JPL spinoff) as a Business Advisor. Currently, they are the Chief Executive Officer at Xairos.

David Mitlyng received a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 1994. David then went on to Stanford University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering in 2000. Finally, in 2015, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the MIT Sloan School of Management, with a focus in Business Administration and Management, General.
