Eli Bourassa

Lead Quantum Architecture Scientist

Eli Bourassa is a Lead Quantum Architecture Scientist at Xanadu since June 2019, leading a team focused on designing methods for generating photonic qubits while also conducting research on architectures for photonic quantum computers. Previously, Eli served as a MITACS Fellow, where research concentrated on photonic quantum computing architectures. Eli's academic background includes a PhD candidacy in Theoretical Physics at the University of Toronto, with a focus on Quantum Cryptography and Quantum Computing, culminating in a thesis on strategies for noisy photonic quantum technologies. Additionally, Eli has held roles as a Teaching Assistant for various physics courses and conducted summer research in Theoretical and Experimental Physics at both the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo. Eli holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from the University of Toronto.
