Andrew Rice

Andrew Rice is a highly experienced professional in the field of computer science, currently serving as the Head of Engineering at XBOW since March 2024. Rice has been associated with Queens' College, Cambridge as a Bye-Fellow in Computer Science and an Official Fellow and Trustee since October 2010. Additionally, Rice holds the position of Professor of Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, having transitioned through various academic roles including University Lecturer and Assistant Director of Research from October 2008 to February 2025. Previous experience includes a role as Non-Executive Director at The Cambridge Building Society and Principal Researcher at GitHub, as well as a Visiting Researcher position at Google, where research focused on machine learning, program repair, and static analysis. Prior to these roles, Rice was the Director at Invest Solutions Limited, managing a range of technical responsibilities and engaging directly with customers. Rice holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, earned between October 2003 and January 2006, and a BA Hons in Computer Science from the same institution, completed from October 1998 to July 2001.
