Dr. Klas Risveden

Dr. Klas Risveden has a diverse and extensive work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Dr. Klas currently serves as the Head of Drug Product and Formulation Development at Xbrane Biopharma AB. Prior to this role, Dr. Risveden worked as a Principal Scientist in LNP Process Development at Lonza Netherlands B.V. where they successfully developed mRNA/LNP formulations and implemented process equipment. Dr. Klas also has experience as a Principal Scientist in Formulation & Drug Product Development/Techtransfers at Ichnos Sciences, where they worked on formulation development and tech transfers.

In their previous roles at AstraZeneca, Dr. Risveden worked as an Associate Principal Scientist in Product Development, leading the delivery of various projects including mRNA-based therapy screening and protein expression in Lipid Nano Particle formulations. Dr. Klas also played a key role in upgrading the company's parenteral platform and solid-state tools for advanced drug delivery.

At Pfizer, Dr. Risveden served as a Manager in Aseptic Process Development & Production Support, leading a team in equipping an Experimental Pilot Plant with cutting-edge technology and leading the lyophilization tech transfer of a vaccine.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Risveden worked as a Consultant in Materials Science at Cool Company Skandinavien AB and as a Technical Advisory Board member at Tellusecure AB. Dr. Klas also held the positions of Business Development Manager and Project Coordinator in Materials Science at Øresund Materials Innovation Community, where they focused on commercialization and technology transfer.

Dr. Risveden's work experience also includes roles as a Laboratory Manager/Chemist in Quality Control at Lonza, where they implemented Lean Six Sigma tools and brought nanotechnology to the company. Dr. Klas also applied for the position of ESA Astronaut applicant at the European Space Agency.

Dr. Klas Risveden has an extensive education history covering a range of disciplines. Dr. Klas obtained their MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Lund University in 2002. Dr. Klas went on to pursue a PhD in Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, specializing in Pure and Applied Biochemistry, Nano & Biotechnology, which they completed in 2008.

Throughout their career, Dr. Risveden has also pursued various professional development opportunities and certifications. In 2012, they became a Certified Business Angel through Connect Väst, focusing on Business Angel Investments. In the same year, they completed the Effective Sales! EQ-Selling program at Utvecklingspoolen, which focused on organizational development through individual development.

Dr. Risveden has also participated in several specialized training programs relevant to their field. In 2014, they completed the Lyophilization Short Course at Pfizer LyoNetwork "Lyoschool" and became a Subject Matter Expert in Freeze Drying through Pfizer LyoUniversity. In 2011, they attended the 13th National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering - Part I at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the 13th National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering - Part II at Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Klas also took part in the Experimental X-ray Physics program at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on X-ray detectors, low flux X-rays, and syncrotron X-rays.

More recently, Dr. Risveden pursued further professional development through various programs. In 2021, they completed the Management Effectiveness Program at Tack TMI & DLVR Management Services, specializing in management effectiveness. In 2022, they participated in the Asana Project Management: Foundations in Project Management program at the Harvard Division of Continuing Education's Professional Development program.

Additionally, Dr. Risveden has obtained certifications related to their extracurricular interests and activities. Dr. Klas obtained the Asana Project Management Certificate from Harvard Division of Continuing Education Professional Development Programs through Pathstream in 2022. Other certifications include Secouriste N1 IAS from SafetyFirst Sàrl in 2021, various certifications in scuba diving and emergency response through PADI in 2019, Sea Rescue Drone Pilot, Category 1 from Livräddarna Tylösand in 2019, Sea crew member from the Swedish Sea Rescue Society in 2013, and certifications as a Beach Lifeguard and Pool Lifeguard from Livräddarna Tylösand and Svenska Livräddningssällskapet, respectively.
