Michael Knapp

Michael Knapp is a seasoned regulatory specialist with extensive experience in energy and utility economics. Currently serving at Xcel Energy since March 2021, Michael focuses on regulatory matters. Previously, at OGE Energy Corp from May 2015 to December 2020, Michael conducted pricing analysis for retail electric rates and provided expert testimony on distributed generation integration in Arkansas and Oklahoma. As Energy Audit Coordinator at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission from July 2012 to April 2015, Michael managed a team analyzing utility operations and served on various committees. Michael has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma, focusing on business statistics and government relations. Michael holds a BA with Honors in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin and both an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Oklahoma.
