Ian G.

Ian G. has over 19 years of work experience in the software development field. Ian is currently serving as the Principal Developer at XE.com since July 2021, where they are responsible for leading a team of developers in supporting and enhancing customer-facing REST API and microservices. Ian has successfully migrated legacy applications to Vue.js and Kotlin Spring Boot deployed on AWS ECS. Additionally, Ian has collaborated with multiple teams to add cryptocurrencies to XE.com and Xe mobile app. Ian has defined technical roadmaps and worked closely with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize and refine stories. Ian has also mentored team members in their development journey.

Prior to their current role, Ian has held various managerial and development positions. Ian served as the Software Development Manager at XE.com, where they focused on corporate integrations and mobile development from February 2020 to July 2021. Ian was also a Senior Software Developer Team Lead and Senior Software Developer at XE.com from February 2016 to May 2019.

Before their tenure at XE.com, Ian worked as a Senior Java Developer (Contract) at Roamly from May 2013 to January 2014. Ian served as a Senior Java Developer (Contract) at Honda Canada from 2012 to 2013, Sr. Java Developer (Contract) at Scotia iTRADE from 2011 to 2012, and J2EE Developer (Contract) at Broadridge Financial Solutions from 2007 to 2011.

Ian started their career as a WebSphere Commerce Developer (Contract) at IBM Toronto Lab from 2005 to 2007.
