Michael Sheard is a Principal Scientist at Xencor since September 2021, previously serving as a Research Scientist in the Single Cell, Sequencing, and CyTOF core at Children's Hospital Los Angeles from June 2020 to September 2021. Prior to that, Michael held the position of Scientific Director of the Flow Cytometry Core Facility at Children's Hospital Los Angeles from 2003 to June 2020, overseeing a facility with advanced cytometry equipment and engaging in clinical trials and immune modulation research for cancer therapy. Michael additionally completed a Sr. Post-doctoral Fellowship resulting in two first-authored, peer-reviewed publications. Earlier experience includes serving as the Head of the Laboratory for Apoptosis Research at the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute from 1999 to 2003, where Michael directed research on therapeutic tumor cell elimination. Michael earned a Ph.D. in Oncology from Charles University between 1995 and 1999.
