Jaime Cano, PhD, is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in structural analysis and research in advanced nuclear reactor technology and educational methodologies in STEM. Currently employed at X-energy as an Engineer focused on structural analysis for Gen IV nuclear reactors, Jaime has developed theories related to creep and fatigue in core graphite structures. Previous roles include serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Aerospace and Exploration Technology Research, where Jaime contributed to a project funded by the United States Department of Energy. Additionally, Jaime has experience in research and tutoring at The University of Texas at El Paso, where significant contributions were made in teaching techniques and outreach activities for high school students. Jaime holds a PhD and master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso, along with a bachelor's degree in the same field.
