Cobus Nel is a Principal Data Scientist with over six years of experience in designing, building, and operating data pipelines that handle more than 100 billion records daily. They possess over 20 years of technical expertise in Python, along with proficiency in Apache Spark, Airflow, and big data databases such as AWS Athena and Apache Impala. Cobus's notable projects include real-time fraud detection through machine learning and automation, as well as various billing systems and time series forecasting strategies. They hold a Bachelor of Engineering and an Honours degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pretoria.
