Corey Evans

Corey Evans is the Senior Manager of Laboratory Operations at xilis. Corey has over 8 years of experience in the laboratory research field. Corey began their career as a Research Specialist II at the Medical University of South Carolina in December 2012 and then became the Manager of NCI DCTD PK/PD Support Laboratory at Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research in May 2017. In this role, Corey supervised, operated and ensured optimal specimen handling quality in a clinical research specimen service that supports early-phase oncology clinical trials at the NIH. Corey maintained detailed records of all clinical samples in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and NIH Clinical Center policies. Corey also developed and ensured staff compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and other QA/QC elements. Corey communicated with various clinical and laboratory units at the NIH campus and various collaborative sites to coordinate specimen collections with clinical activities and provide timely updates of status of time sensitive specimens. In addition, they performed laboratory procedures that included plasma separation, PBMC and immune cell isolation, tissue biopsy and preservation, and cell counting and enrichment. Corey has been with xilis since May 2021.

Corey Evans has completed a fellowship in clinical research ethics at the Medical University of South Carolina, a Master of Science in Anatomy and Neurobiology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at Clemson University.
