Dave Hong

Co-founder, VP of NPI at xMEMS

Dave Hong has over 25 years of experience in the MEMS industry. Dave began their career in 1995 as a Senior Process Engineer at EG&G IC Sensors. In 1997, they moved to United MicroMachining Corp as a Technical Staff. In 2000, they joined AIP Networks as a Technical Staff and developed a wafer process flow and built the company's first MEMS micro-mirror devices in a university fab. In 2002, they moved to Lightconnect Inc. as a Senior MEMS Engineer and delivered the world's best-selling MEMS VOA devices from concept to working prototype in six weeks. In 2006, they joined APM as Vice President of Marketing & Sales and set the marketing strategy for the third largest MEMS foundry in the world at that time. In 2007, they moved to InvenSense, Taiwan as Director of MEMS Operations and set up the company's Taiwan operation. In 2009, they joined Mcube Inc, Taiwan as Senior Manager of Integration Engineering and worked hands-on with a MEMS foundry and a package house to deliver the company's first 3-axis accelerometer samples for customer evaluation. In 2010, they moved to Fujifilm Dimatix as a Principal Engineer and managed a project to develop a packaging technology for the company's next generation inkjet print head. In 2013, they joined Kolo Medical as Director of MEMS Products and assessed the company's technology and business strategy and then evaluated multiple supply chain candidates to find the matching partners. In 2018, they co-founded xMEMS and served as Vice President of NPI.

Dave Hong received their BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1993. Dave then went on to pursue their MEEE in Electrical Engineering at Cornell University from 1993 to 1995. Finally, Dave Hong completed their MBA at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in 2006.
