Mark Phillips has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Mark began their career as a Software Engineer at Motherwell Bridge Ltd in 1995. Mark then worked at SGS Thompson as a Software Engineer, specializing in Compilation and Debug tools, from 1997 to 2001. At STMicroelectronics, Mark held various roles including Team Lead for Embedded multicore communications libraries, Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead for JTAG host-target interface software, and Principal Software Engineer and Team Lead for the initialization system and software interface of multi-core SoCs. Mark also worked as a Team Manager, consultant, and project manager, leading the development of a new generation JTAG host-target interface hardware and software. Mark joined Dyson in 2014 as a Senior Robotics Software Engineer, and at Blu Wireless in 2015, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer, where they contributed to the implementation of software and systems for 5G wireless platforms. Currently, Mark is working at XMOS, where they hold the positions of Director of Tools and Principal Software Engineer.

Mark Phillips pursued their education in a systematic manner, starting by obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Aston University. Mark attended Aston University from 1988 to 1992.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Mark pursued higher education and enrolled at the University of Birmingham in 1992. Mark pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Architecture, specializing in Cache Prefetching for Image Processing. Mark's doctoral studies at the University of Birmingham lasted until 1995.
