Martina S.

Detector Physics Engineer at Xnext

Martina S. has worked in various roles since 2011. Martina began their career as a Bachelor Thesis student in Physics at Università degli Studi di Milano, where they studied magnetics structures optimized for electrical power conversion in high energy physics experiments. In 2014, they became a Master Thesis student in Electronics Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where they worked on a project involving CdTe and CdZnTe detector systems with low noise read-out electronics for x and γ radiation spectroscopic imaging. From 2017 to 2020, Martina worked as a Researcher PhD Student and PhD Associate at Politecnico di Milano and INFN - National Institute for Nuclear Physics, respectively. In their roles, they were responsible for electrical and spectroscopic characterization and extracted data analysis, modeling of device physics, state of the art knowledge comparison, and published 1 first-authored and 5 co-authored scientific papers. Most recently, Martina has been working as a Detector Physics Engineer at Xnext S.p.A. since 2020.

Martina S. has a comprehensive educational background. Martina attended ISS Marie Curie, Tradate from 2003 to 2008 and obtained a Scientific High School degree. From 2008 to 2011, they attended Università degli Studi di Milano, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Physics. Martina then completed their Master's degree in Electronics Engineering at Politecnico di Milano from 2012 to 2016. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Technology from Politecnico di Milano in 2020. Additionally, Martina S. has obtained various certifications over the years, including First Step Korean from Coursera (Yonsei University) in 2017, Radiation Detection and Measurement from IEEE (short course) in 2017, HTML and CSS from Codecademy in 2015, Finite Elements Method for Electromagnetics applications from COMSOL, Inc. (Workshop and webinars attendance) in 2012, and Cambridge English: First (FCE) - grade A from Cambridge Assessment English in 2007.
