Hang Zhang

Principal Engineer / Head of Foundation Model

Hang Zhang is a Principal Engineer at XPeng, currently leading the Foundation Model Team, where they focus on building general autonomous driving AI. Previously, Hang served as a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon, where they developed the GluonCV and AutoGluon toolkits and conducted research on large-scale vision solutions. They also held roles as a Research Scientist at Meta, a Deep Learning Research Intern at NVIDIA, and an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Lab126, where they developed a state-of-the-art semantic segmentation algorithm. Hang earned a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Rutgers University-New Brunswick and a Bachelor's Degree in Automation from Southeast University.
