Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith has a diverse work experience in the field of analytics and data. Ryan is currently serving as the Head of Analytics at Xpert Decision Systems (XDS) Pty Ltd since December 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Data and Analytics at Connect Financial Solutions from October 2018 to November 2019.

Before joining Connect Financial Solutions, Ryan was the Head of Analytics at Nimble Group (Pty) Ltd from June 2017 to July 2018. Ryan also had a period of self-employment as an Independent Credit Risk & Data Analytics Consultant from October 2016 to May 2017.

Ryan has extensive experience working at Standard Bank Group, where they held multiple executive positions. Ryan served as the Executive Head: PBB Model Development & Model Management from July 2015 to September 2016. Prior to this, they held the role of Executive Head: MI & Analytics PBB Credit SA from November 2011 to June 2015. Ryan also served as the Head of Portfolio Management - Home Loans Credit from May 2009 to October 2011 and as the Head of Management Information & Analytics - Card Credit from January 2008 to April 2009.

Earlier in their career, Ryan worked as a Senior Consultant at PIC Solutions for a brief period in 2007. Ryan also served as the Head of Retail Impairments at Barclay Bank - Africa & Indian Ocean in 2006. Their career began at Nedbank, where they worked as a Credit/Business Analyst from 1996 to 2006.

Ryan Smith earned a Bachelor's Degree in BCom from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2003.
